Stuart Emerson joined the surveying profession upon leaving university and has over 35 years experience gained working for both local authorities and building societies, but mainly within private practice; initially in Central Manchester, but for the last 25 years on the East Coast; based in Scarborough. In recent years he has acted as a consultant for three of the largest national surveying firms and also his Local Authority.

Emerson Valuation and Survey was established in the year 2000 as a specialist residential practice providing a professional service for intending home buyers, with the emphasis on personal attention and competitive fee quotations.
